Gilbert J. Munoz is a Certified Public Accountant who has over 30 years’ experience helping clients resolve their tax issues. He is also a certified tax resolution specialist.
A Tampa native, Gil graduated from the University of South Florida and joined one of the largest local CPA firms in the Bay area, where he was manager of the Financial Audit Department.
Gil then joined the tenth largest accounting firm in the country, American Express Tax and Business Services, where he was a manager in the Tampa office. In addition to reviewing and managing over 500 tax clients annually, Gil was responsible for performing compliance and technical audits for AMEX tax offices all over the country.
Since leaving American Express, Gil worked for a firm that was founded by a former Executive of the IRS in representing individuals and businesses locally before the IRS and FL Department of Revenue.
Gil is currently in private practice, focusing on IRS tax problem resolution for both corporate and individual clients, but also handling tax preparation, personal and business tax planning, delinquent returns, collections, liens, employment tax, audits and levies.
Gil Munoz is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the AICPA Tax Section, the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers and the Florida Institute of CPAs.
In 2013, Gilbert J. Munoz, CPA, received the American Society of Tax Problem Solver’s award for Top Practitioner. Given in recognition of his exceptional achievements in the field of tax resolution and representation, this award was presented by ASTPS National Director Lawrence M. Lawler at the 2013 Advanced Seminar in IRS Tax Problem Resolution, held in San Diego, California, June 6-8. The American Society of Tax Problem Solvers (ASTPS) is a national, not-for-profit organization of professionals who specialize in representing taxpayers before the IRS. This membership organization provides education, certification, and additional resources to assist tax consultants in best representing their clients before the IRS.
